This book was good; my first romance novel. i think i was embarrassed reading it because its romance but i kind of mixed it up with being embarrassed reading it cuz its gay. no hate to gay people just some internalized stuff i gots to figure out. but anyway. i thought it was a real shame that maurice and clive never got together,, or at least that they never talked their shit out. i didn't really understand why or how clive was able to just suddenly stop being gay; was he bisexual or just repressing himself completely? i understand that he fell out of love with maurice but to stop being interested in men entirely? and the way forster wrote it made his sudden interest in women sound genuine and true and magical, of sorts. real happy for maurice that he confronted clive in the end, that he got to have the final word and say all the shit he needed to. maurice reminded me a lot of a certain someone, but he and all the other characters were also misogynistic pos so not really.
