This was a really fun mystery/fantasy/romance book where we follow a young woman who has been struck with a curse and is trying to figure out why this has happened to her. This is all narrated by a fae creature who is able to transform herself into wisps of smoke, mites, shadows, and sneak around in order to be able to tell us the story of Miss Maelys Mitchelmore and her misadventures. The book is slightly spicy but not too much, and the romance isn't all that this story is about, there are complicated character relationships all around and I did appreciate the touches of historical bits thrown in here and there. My favorite character truly was the narrator who kept everything at great pace and also left me on the edge of my seat many many times.
All in all I'd highly recommend this book as a fun book that will keep you entertained and will give some spicy romance vibes.
