The Great Movies by Roger Ebert
3.0

Some of these takes are great, some are mystifying, some are utterly conventional. The letter written to his grandkids about why E.T. is good is both so cringe and also not a bad way to explain why Spielberg is a great filmmaker.

He uses 2001's Pearl Harbor repeatedly as an example of why Hollywood currently sucks, and sometimes cites random IMDB users as data points for stupid conventional wisdom, and it's not like the MCU and Letterboxd are that different; in fact, they're probably worse!

I found at least ten or fifteen movies here that I want to watch or rewatch due to this, so that's not bad!
