I read this book with some of my friends, and we all enjoyed it a lot! I loved this book, and I had a lot of fun with it. It wasn't as spicy as I expected it to be, which I was disappointed by at first since that was what drew me to the book in the first place, but to be honest, it didn't bother me at all by the end. I enjoyed the story for what it was, even if it wasn't what I expected. I loved both Persephone and Hades, but I will say that I was much more into Persephone. Hades was great, just not my usual type, but I loved him regardless. My biggest complaint is
that we didn't dive into Hades trauma as much as I wanted to. While we know what happened in his past, we never get details, and I wish there had been a scene where we explore that through Persephone learning more about him. I think it would have done wonders for my understanding of his character.
That being said, that really is my only complaint about this book. Everything else was great. The side characters were wonderful, and all very well developed, which I was happy to see. I love when the side characters in romance novels feel just as real as the two main characters, because that doesn't always happen in the genre. Hades was so sweet, and I really loved watching his romance with Persephone bloom throughout the story. I also loved the subtle references to winter and summer and how the book plays with that concept. It was very subtle, but it was there if you pay enough attention, and I thought it was clever. I am also very intrigued by the world created in this book. This city of Olympus is such an interesting concept to me, and I was not disappointed by how this book portrayed it.
