Juniper & Thorn

3.5/4 I don’t know, this one is hard to rate.
“If you ever loved me, it was only because I was a soft thing you threw down the bottom of a pit to break your fall.”
“Any predator can choose to smile without teeth.”
“… my first secret, my first lie, safe as death.”
The description of a gothic, dark fairy tale did not disappoint (it was darker than I imagined still). The prose and imagery are fantastic.
What I didn’t like: the romance (felt thin and very much insta-love), I struggled with the MC (who couldn’t help but talk about how plain faced she was all the time), the overt sexualization was ALOT at times, and the endless repetition of the same words and phrases. I still have a few questions at the end.
