If you were a tween girl in the mid 80s to early 90s, you’ve probably read books from the Sweet Valley High series. If you’re like me, you read them until you aged out of the series (I was done by 1989). Upon rereading them, I realized how toxic these books are, yet compulsively readable. Hardwick rereads them all, summarizing them and discussing them with not a small amount of snark. If you read SVH, you’ll love this funny, sarcastic, feminist review of the series. It’s a blast from the past through a new lens.
