The premise of this sounded pretty interesting, but the world-building is so lacking I'm actually mad at it. This seems to be the real world, except for one single instance of maybe magic that is never explained or expanded on? It's like someone read Lore Olympus and was like "I can capitalize on the popularity of this by just using it as a thin veneer over my rewrite of 50 Shades of Grey". 50 Shades remains one of the cringiest things I have ever read, so I did not need a reboot, thanks.
