The book was a little repetitive due to the editor providing many of the essays. It made me wonder how come she didn't write her own and have separate essays. It also feels misleading since the stories don't feel as diverse and powerful. Maybe it's because I've been trans for years.
A lot of the stories came from younger folks and from people who are from the.. Australia, UK, and the USA. Many of the stories felt surface based and didn't explore what they were telling. Not all of them were like that, for an example I really liked the Prom King story and Mxstress Luna's essay (Although I wish they wrote more because hearing about sex from a trans POV is rare).
What I was hoping was to hear stories from our elders and various cultures and bodies. Various of beliefs and classes. Maybe the essays had to be longer? I don't know.
I still appreciate multiple voices coming together and writing this so thank you!
