Witch Hat Atelier, Volume 11 by Kamome Shirahama
4.5

This volume felt a bit more back to the norm of what expect of Witch hat Atelier. I like that we have a smaller focus, now on Coco and Agott and what magic is for both of them. How Agott always focusses on making magic for herself, and how Coco always makes it for others. How Agott wished that Coco wasn't there, but also how she has impacted her life for the better (god, they are so gay, especially Agott). Coco doesn't care for Agott's backstory, instead she is her hype woman, that she acknowledge that Agott works hard and always tries her best. That there is a difference between inventing and just copying, that copying doesn't mean you understand the magic you are producing.  I also like how Coco invented a spell that she thinks is useful, but doesn't catches the imagination of the people. Then there is Agott, who realises what is missing and fixes it with a simple spell. It creates the sense of whimsy and people realising it is useful. Their dity water be removed without having to lugg them all the way. The additional benifits, that it is cleaned, they don't quite realise. Because they don't live close tot he dirty river. But by selling them the dream, they also benifit the other people. Also, the ending is really suspensful. Who is that old guy? How are they going to fix this? Custas realisation that how dangerous magic can actually be, that it can be wonderful, but also can create monsters.
