Under The Cover Of Darkness by Emma Luna

challenging dark emotional mysterious sad tense medium-paced

5.0

This book is the next in the Twisted Legends Collection and it is a great one. Addy is a broken girl lost in her own mind and finds herself at a psychiatric facility. While there, Addy meets Dylan, a rock star on a court order to get sober. Addy and Dylan become friends and she opens up about how Slender Man haunts her nightmares. The dreams keep getting worse and Dylan grows more and more concerned for Addy’s mental health. This is a very dark contemporary romance book with rock star vibes that tackles mental health crisis and sobriety. I loved how Emma didn’t just make Dylan instantly become sober. She showed how he kept doubting himself about what would happen in the real world. Addy and Dylan’s relationship is based on friendship and trust. I fell in love with them as a couple and how their love bloomed. With so much darkness around Addy, you could feel through the book the light that Dylan brought into her world. This book was raw and emotional. I couldn't put it down. I was lucky enough to get an advanced copy and ate it up. Highly recommended for reads of dark romance!
