“Something festered inside me, and it felt an awful lot like human emotions.
Ew. No. There would be none of that.”
I still hate the mind-reading trope… but Ezra and Fury make it almost tolerable. Between Ezra, Roman, and Dorian, Ezra’s got the most green flags by far. He’s the only one who consistently prioritizes Fury’s wants, feelings, and opinions alongside her safety. He’s considerate, compromising, and respects the boundaries Fury sets for him—which she does, and does well. It’s magnificent. By fantasy heroine standards, Fury is practically a paragon of self-respect and self-advocacy, and I sincerely and enthusiastically love that for her.

No wonder she’s attracted a platonic harem of powerful women. I just wish they were accepting applications.
