Prodigal Summer by Barbara Kingsolver
5.0

I have been carrying this book around with me for over a decade and without question, it was the right time to dive in. I could never have appreciated this book, in the same way, before living in rural NC. While still a newbie to the south eastern appalachian region, these stories gave me insight to the landscape and culture that enhanced the wonder and awe I have already come to experience.
Kinsolver’s character development is some of the finest I have ever known. While the book moved slow at times, I continued to be curious of the people and all creation I walked alongside of throughout the journey.
