Four Hundred Souls: A Community History of African America, 1619-2019 by Ibram X. Kendi

This was a PHENOMENAL read. The content is informative, interesting, and often infuriating. But there is a tone of hope for the future. We can and will do better. I also really loved the format. A narrative spanning four hundred years is told in a series of short essays and poems that make the information easier to keep up with and offers a variety of perspectives.
