Just for the Summer by Abby Jimenez brought me so much joy. I was having a hard week and was sort of in a book slump, so I decided to read this ARC pretty early. I am so glad I did! I love Abby's romances because the characters feel so real. Yes, I am here for the swooning and the giggling just like anyone else, but I also want to be invested in the characters. I found myself so invested in not only Justin and Emma's relationship, but also their individual journeys as they both dealt with their own family traumas. I love how the romance still shone through all of the hard times, because you rarely get to just fall in love and not have a lot of *life* happening in the background. How your partner shows up for you in the dark times is so important. I was incredibly emotional by the end of the book. It was just what I needed.
