I was hesitant to pick this up because of all the hype, but I ended up actually having a lot of fun. I loved the relationship between riders and dragons. I enjoyed the world building so far and am intrigued how it will develop in the next book. I had fun with the different relationships which Violet built at the War College. The spice caught me off guard as I didn’t look up much about this before starting, but it was minimal which I prefer, as it didn’t take away from the plot. Violet herself is slightly annoying, but I am looking forward to seeing where the next book in the series will take me and all of the characters.
