The Stonewall Reader by New York Public Library

3.0

This was more like 2.5 stars to me. This completes task 4: Read an LGBTQ+ history book of Book Riot’s Read Harder Challenge.

I’ve often heard about the Stonewall riots and seen it on various movies and TV shows, but I never really knew the details about this famous riot that started a much needed movement. So, when I saw this book recommended for this task, I got excited. I should have read the fine print and description. This book was an anthology put together by the New York Public Library showcasing LBGTQ rights through various mediums, such as articles, interviews, letters, memoirs, etc. it was divided into three parts: Before Stonewall, During Stonewall, and after Stonewall. Oddly, the During Stonewall section had the least number of pages and chapters.
