librarino 's review for:
The Secret Lives of Booksellers and Librarians: True Stories of the Magic of Reading
by Matt Eversmann, James Patterson
This book reminded me why I do my job as a librarian. The last few years have been hard. Being a librarian is very difficult right now and often times very isolating. This book made me feel like I was being welcomed by a community of my own. I recommended it to all the librarians in my district.
I will say there were sections where I had panic attacks from how closely some of these situations mirrored my own experiences of having books challenged and being slandered in the community. Be careful.
