Where do I start? So so so good! This is up there with Harry Potter and LOTR, it is a fantasy epic. The plot is engaging, the characters are complex and the world is fascinating. Lyra is our protagonist and she is very enjoyable to read. She is made to question the world around her and the people she can trust. Given she is a child her narration is entirely believable. This is a very quest centered story where Lyra is tasked to go and rescue the missing children from the gobblers (sounds funny I know). In this reality humans have daemons that are attached to them like a soul and take on the form of a animal. I'm excited to read the The Subtle Knife!
