I really liked this book. It is in the same category as Jesus & John Wayne, Exvangelicals - albeit, different, but similarly exploring the current state we find ourselves in, collectively.
What was different was the narrative of it. This felt part memoir, and I really enjoyed the frame this book took when talking about its topics. It was less of “here is what i researched” and more of a journey we were taking with the Naomi’s. I wish we could’ve heard from the other, but that’s okay.
Seeing how someone shifts from one side to another through this story was more personal (or personable?) than just recounting the shift, which I will say I find interesting regardless.
I love this kind of thing and think about the contradictions a lot. I just felt this was a very unique lens to have when writing about it. One I don’t think many have.
