tense
medium-paced
Plot or Character Driven:
A mix
Diverse cast of characters:
No
Flaws of characters a main focus:
Complicated
Enjoyed a break from general fae themes that are still every other book on the romantasy shelves right now. The Nords are rough and often violent, much of it reminded me of watching VIKINGS.
I think the 60-80% span sort of stalls out and feels longer than it should, but 85-95% drops you right off a cliff lol. I did figure out the powers twist when she damned her enemies on the mountain. And then the was the obvious traitor blind spot.
Not sure how long the series will run, but the next book promises to reveal & complicate Freya's world.
