The way the book speaks to you, the reader, directly is quite refreshing - you are experiencing the same frustration as the protagonist in reading only the beginnings of different stories again and again, and I thought this meta-reading was interesting. The language is lively and reminiscent of story books I read when I was younger. I loved the chapter about the ringing telephone and the prison by the sea. However I lost patience towards the end as things began to get more and more absurd…
