Daddy's Boy by Shandana Minhas
3.0
2.5 stars - almost a three but it wasn't really there for me.
I loved the expression and the humour in this book - Minhas's writing style is quite engaging, which is why I really enjoyed reading this book. However, the story itself was quite strange.
I wish the three uncles had more of a role than what they had, and it seemed the book had a lot of build-up with almost no pay off. The main character, Asfandyar, had a fairly decent arc but it developed way too quickly and it needed to be explored more. The ending did not sit well with me - for a book with such a strong set-up, it seemed to take a cliched turn!
