Rendezvous with Rama by Arthur C. Clarke

4.0

3.5 stars, rounded up.

Clarke wanted to explore an alien artifact, and he succeeded. Second only to Varley's Gaea trilogy in my opinion, Rama is still, almost 50 years on, an alien landscape that we have to try to understand with our paltry, limited view of the universe.

Pity his characters are all as well defined as a piece of paper stood on edge.

Glad I read it, will revisit it again someday, or at least check out the sequels.
