Desirable Daughters
by Bharati Mukherjee
I wanted to like this, I really did. I love books about families, different generations of women and/or sisters' experiences, immigrant experiences, and Indian immigrant experiences in particular. But unfortunately this book did nothing for me. It felt like notes, almost - lots of pieces but no over-arching story or framework to hold it all together. In addition, none of the characters are at all likeable.
