Loved this book. It had solid pacing. Wasn't rushed through. The before had a good build up and felt realistic and then it transitioned well throughout the relationship. The mental health aspects felt like a good undercurrent which helped ground the series and made it enjoyable for me. There was a time where I wasn't sure whether it would be a happy ending. There were some notes. the main character Stevie was bi-racial but that seemed not to be a pressure point in her life. She had no black people around her personally. Her issues were her weight and not standing up for her self. Always talk about her hair but it never went into why her mother and "friends" or others could have found it an issue. T thought that part could of been more fleshed out.
