In Too Deep by Jayne Ann Krentz

3.0

This book has all the potential for a great paranormal romantic suspense with a master villain pulling strings behind the scenes, the Arcane Society policing the Talents and the Jones family. Unfortunately it has one major downfall which is a heroine that is just too stupid to live. It really pushes the bounds of creditability when Isabella Valdez, who was raised by a conspiracy theorist, would be as naïve as she is in this book.

Even so, the rest of the characters and the plot line kept me listening to the book. Fallon Jones , a hardnosed detective, has his insecurities but is a man that lives by a code of honor and logic. The residents of Scargill Cove are a unique bunch and it would be a delightful bunch to fit in with. And the plotline is all too feasible. This would be a fantastic series if it wasn’t for Isabella.

And since this is an audio book I feel that I must comment on the narrator. She was easy to understand but lousy with male voices. All of the men sound like they have been smoking for 50+ years and drinking just as long.
