Who doesn't know of this book?
Even as I was rereading it, I was being bombarded by references to it in the most random places in my day-to-day life.
The first time I read it was in 2015, at the ripe age of twelve, which would actually make me eligible for the Games back then. That's absolutely terrifying to think about.
This re-read made me appreciate certain characters way more than I did in the past. You also can't help but sympathize with the protagonist, even if her personality is a stark contrast to yours. The ending is a little bland in my opinion, but it's nothing the sequel won't fix.
In my opinion, it's truly justified in being the staple of the dystopian genre, and definitely worth a read.
