Paddle Your Own Canoe: One Man's Fundamentals for Delicious Living
by Nick Offerman
This is the second of Mr. Offerman’s books that I have read. Admittedly, I should have done more research and read this one first. Regardless, this is a highly entertaining read. If you are expecting a life story/musings exactly like Ron Swanson, be warned. Nick is a very different person from his well-known character. Yes, they both love the outdoors and a good scotch, but they are still vastly different. Nick writes in such a way that makes me want to be friends with him, even in sections that I do not completely agree with (certain musings begin to border on “old man yells at clouds). I honestly could have used this book years ago. There’s a lot of wisdom in here that I think we all could benefit from. I certainly have a long list of hobbies, books, movies, music, and media to look into now. I love a good biography/memoir, so this one is a must-read from me.
