I first thoughts this was a short stories collection about mental illness and traumatic experience. Though it was true for most parts, the rest was a mixed of bizarre story ranging from weird restaurant review to a carnivorous parasitic infestation wound? It also picked up a lot of a dystopian setting, and there was a good amount of stories involving blood or other bodily fluids or other gooey substance.
Since this was not my first Eliza Clark book, those didn’t surprised me much. It’s still quite disturbing, but otherwise compelling as always. There is a content guide at the end of the book that you could read first if you might get triggered.
