What a brutally honest memoir. This isnt a self help book where the author talks about overcoming obstacles to achieve a dream or a goal. This book is about abuse, rage, cruelty and the daily struggle that comes with being a way physically, that is not a socially popular standard - in this case, being overweight.
I loved this book because the way Roxane Gay thinks and writes felt like I was reading about my own thoughts and I way I think and over think about many things and blame myself more than I blame the actual circumstances. This book needs to be read by everyone, just so we realise that somethings need a deeper understanding before we go around looking at them with our judgmental glasses.
