The Devil's Panties by Jennie Breeden

3.0

This was a lot of fun! I met the author at GenCon a couple of years ago and picked up volumes 1 and 2. Of course, being me, and having a wide array of books on my shelves already, I hadn't had a chance to check it out til now.

I really liked it. It's humorous, feminist, and still a tad offensive. I really liked reading about all of the characters adventures, namely into the world of fetish clubs and shitty jobs. And I nodded in complete understanding of Jen's absolute hatred of malls.

She and her roommates (Beth and DJ) work because despite their differences, they've got a lot of similar quirks. They have a fantastic bond formed and their friendship was just a breath of fresh air. I'm not usually one for contemporary stories, but they're sometimes fun to escape into.

I really dug the art style, though I have a feeling that the web comic itself is color even though this was black and white. It didn't take away from anything to me, but the author mentioned that the MC has red hair, and I was just like - cool cool?
