I Married A Lizardman by Regine Abel
4.0

I thought this story did an excellent job of examining cultural and species differences, along with cultural trauma, through the lens of 2 well meaning individuals getting married. Susan had been dealt a crappy hand in life and that was the only reason she agreed to marry Olix. She was sweet, compassionate, and patient. Olix was a lil bit grumpy, but mostly overwhelmed by the challenges his people were facing. Their love story was sweet and tender with plenty of foibles and spice to break it up.
