At the Mountains of Madness
by H.P. Lovecraft
If you're feeling a little lazy, and don't want to read what is a rather long Lovecraft story, this is a good option. It's also a pretty good Lovecraft story, with only implicit xenophobia and a little racism rather than lots of overt racism.
The illustrations are well done, and did a good job with the creatures, though the city was a little uninspiring. This is the trouble with rendering any Lovecraft story, though, as they hinge on what is difficult to perceive or portray.
