Hey, do you want to read a Pirate - Nymph fantasy romance where the banter and chemistry between these two is off the chart! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Oh, and the plot is even more amazing?

⚜ rating: 4.5 🌟🌟🌟🌟 🔅 rounded up to 5. 50% in and it's 5 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
⚜Genre: Low Fantasy Romance
⚜Theme: Portal/Retelling romance
⚜Targeted audience: adults
⚜Characters: Anne Bonny (Rhode), Calico Jack, and the crew of the Revenge
⚜Representation: LGBTQ+ very important side character
⚜Pace: medium
⚜TW: violence, kidnapping
⚜ tropes: hidden identity, forced proximity, found family, touch her/him and die
⚜ POV: Double First person
⚜ spice 🌶🌶 🌶 (but one scene deserves 🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶 for that tale play). The book is not heavy on the smut
⚜standalone: yes, though connected to other series, you can read it and understand it without reading the others
⚜Ending: HEA
⚜Book read: ARC via Kindle provided by BookSiren
Let's take a moment to appreciate that the book is based on the true life of Captain Calico Jack and his pirate lover Anne Bonny. Jack lived in the 18th century. He broke the stereotypical life of Pirates at that time by having two female crew members on his ship, Mary Read and Anne Bonny.
So hats off to Spade for doing the research 💞💞💞💞
Rhode is a nymph from Atlantis. Something happened (probably in previous books) and she finds herself thrown not only in a different place but also a different time.
She now has to travel from the Caribbean to the Mediterranean to go back to her family.
Because of monsters lurking in the deep hunting nymphs and mermaids, Rhode disguises herself as a cabin boy on Captain Jack's ship... not that did her any good🤣🤣
Every character, main and side, in this book was equally amazing.
Rhode (Anne) and Jack were neck to neck in their strength, humor, banter, hot chemistry, and thinking on their feet.
The plot was like the waves of the ocean: saving him, saving her, saving them, saving him, saving her....and so on. You are never bored.
I loved that Anne was the ancient one and Jack was the mortal
I loved how Jack, egotistical as he is, listened to Anne and his crew
I loved how the author was not afraid to push the boundaries of life and death. (that one scene 😭😭)
I loved that the word "love" was not thrown haphazardly but rather it was their actions that showed how much they loved each other.
But most importanlty I loved how this book made me want to read all the books in the series and now i have them on my Kindle
