How to Hide an Empire by Daniel Immerwahr

adventurous informative medium-paced

An absolutely fantastic piece of nonfiction. This is one of the best books I've read all year.

Basic idea is that the author is reframing US history to include the history of American colonies. This is really important because at points in US history over 50% of the population lived in colonies ruled directly by the federal government. These folks had no representation and the federal government had significant control over their lives.

Colony has been part of American history from the start to today and erasing their history erases people and rights.
