Pretty Revenge by Emily Liebert
5.0
Revenge can be sweet. Pretty even. Pretty Revenge was definitely a 5 star read for me. Surprisingly, it wasn’t the thriller I thought it may be, but it did suck me in regardless. I finished it in a day and I’m telling you, this is a great summer read. Pick it up now.
Kerrie was royally screwed by Jordan 18 years ago. I mean, really, REALLY screwed over. Jordan, now Jordana, is living the high life in the Big Apple when Kerrie sees her on the news being interviewed for her successful new business. Kerrie decides then to take her birth name of Olivia, change her look a bit, and then puts together a plan of revenge that is nothing if not admirable. Jordana, meet that new assistant you said you needed.
While not thrilling in the thriller sense, Pretty Revenge is about a girl wanting whats owed and seeing whether the other will get her just desserts. It’s salacious and intriguing. And yes, thrilling. It’s like Liebert made you a fly on the wall of NYC’s rich, famous, and ridiculous. Kerrie/Olivia knows who Jordana really is and will stop at nothing to expose her. I simply couldn’t stop reading. And in all honesty, despite quite valid reasons, I wasn’t quite sure who I wanted to win. This book felt like a guilty pleasure and I enjoyed every word.
I received an advanced copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
