This was quick and short read. I’ll give it a 2.75/5 . I didn’t love it but there was nothing I really disliked strongly. Everything about this book was just very nonchalant and brushed over. There was no big deal. They tried to make Blake a grumpy guy but that lasted for all of two seconds before he started randomly calling her babe and having her son Sam refer to him as dada. When they first kissed it was a random peck, and the first I love you was accidentally when she hung up the phone. They moved so quickly and everyone around them just accepted it and there was no inner battles either. I think the connection of Blake and Sam was so cute, but since Sam was still so young it wasn’t that deep. Also it was supposed to be that Everly was Blake’s employing but they forgot about that whole concept after like chapter 5. Like there was nothing risky about this book honestly.

Everly has a son named Sam. Sam’s father wants nothing to do with Sam even though him and Everly were in love. She then fills in at her dads job and has her meet cute with Blake. Then she gets a job and it turns out Blake is her boss. He’s grumpy at first and keeps bringing up how she has a kid and is taken, but once he find out she’s single he’s suddenly not grumpy anymore. They are just friendly for a little bit but he gets attached to Sam and vice versa. He slowly just starts calling her babe, and brings her to every family dinner, then randomly pecks her one day, and refers to her as his girlfriend. The only drama is that his Dad is hiding that he has cancer from everyone but Blake, and that Sam’s dad’s parents want a relationship with him but is mean during their first meeting so they legally threaten rights but then she ends up saying she wants them to have a relation to Sam anyways?? So that was kinda pointless. But yeah this was a cute light read but I wouldn’t crave to reread it.
