Queen's Shadow
by E.K. Johnston
‘Queen’s Shadow’ does a great job of fleshing out Padmè’s character outside of Anakin Skywalker. The book provides the time that we didn’t see in the movies in Padmè’s life where she transitions from queen to senator. We learn about her fears and hopes and wants. We also see her friendship with her handmaids and those learn more about those handmaids themselves, Sabè specifically.
The only really problem with ‘Queen’s Shadow’ is that it’s kind of boring. It’s very political heavy and because it deals with Padmè before the Clone Wars, we don’t get much or any action. It’s not a long read but it felt longer then it was because it wasn’t all that entertaining.
