As a reader, I had high expectations for Temper. Fargo did a good job delving into the themes of sexuality, power, and manipulation in the book, but it fell short when it came to the actual thriller component. As such, I would describe this as a psychological drama rather than a psychological thriller. It was interesting to observe how the author dealt with the sexuality and orientation of her characters, especially since it was an intricate aspect of the narrative without it being too stereotypical. If the thriller aspect of this book had been incorporated, it would have had so much more potential. However, I do believe that the author redeemed herself when she released They Never Learn.
