Alright, Emma Lord, you've convinced me: you're the queen of rivals-to-lovers. It's official. How someone can manage to take my least favorite kind of trope (okay, so I hate enemies-to-lovers, but rivals is close enough) and make me fall head-over-heels every time... is pretty spectacular.

You know that TikTok where the girl slaps her credit card down on the counter just to show that whatever it is can take her money? Yeah, that's how I feel about Emma Lord's books. I want to understand just how she manages to pack so much CUTE into each and every novel she writes?! Someone, give me the answer! It's astounding! I was basically cheesing throughout the entirety of this book!

I did six years of musical theatre. Broadway soundtracks pretty much sustained me during that time (and to this day are still an integral part of my life). I immediately related to Millie in so many ways. Add to that the fact that the story is like a reverse Mamma Mia and you certainly have my attention. That's one of my favorite musicals!!! I felt myself inwardly screaming (in a good way) throughout the duration of this book. I just freaking ENJOYED THE HECK OUT OF MYSELF while reading.

Truthfully, there's basically nothing I can say against this book. It's just adorable in every way while also including some great depth and character development. If you're a fan of the theatre, you'll appreciate this tenfold just because of all of the fantastic references! I certainly felt Emma Lord's personality shining through as I was reading. It was such fun.

Pick this up if you need a good dose of smiles!
