Mr. Fixer Upper
by Lucy Score
I am pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoy Lucy Score as an author. Romance novels aren’t my usual genre, but so far it has been further up on my reading lists. The start to this book is a little all over the place in my opinion. It takes a couple chapters to really get into what the meat of the plot line is. I think what mostly frustrated me was the jumping of location and not getting a real finished feeling to each project. I understand that the end outweighs the road it takes to get there, but it was a slow burn. I didn’t start to feel like I couldn’t put down the book until roughly 40% into it. At that point I was engrossed in the story. I needed to know how it ended. I loved the character growth and the tension build. The underlying plot of Paige’s documentary is such an important topic and needs to be addressed more. I really enjoyed the reality factor mixed with the not so realistic romance. The ending was a perfect cherry on top. It was definitely worth reading all the way through.
