The Muse by Jessie Burton
4.0

"...Is there ever such a thing as a whole story, or an artist's triumph, a right way to look through the glass? It all depends on where the light falls."

Loved the way this book looked at art and creation, and turned the general perception of a muse on it's head. I very much appreciated the depth and strength of the female characters, how they propped themselves and each other up (mostly) without dependence on a man. I really enjoyed the mystery as well, the discovery of Quick's true identity was not what I'd expected. A solid read, though the prose was a little clunky at times; now I have to put "The Miniaturist" on my list.
