From Yaad by Tracey Jackson

3.0

Enriched in culture and language, this novel brings Jamaican patois to the forefront. With brief glimpses of food and social interactions of a lax Blue Lagoon contrasting the hustle and bustle of New York elicits a visceral appreciation of the island, affectionately called “yaad”. This short story about family, love, and leaps of faith is the perfect breezy summer read.
