This was an enjoyable read for what it was-a smutty, single-mom and broody fire-fighter romance. I did think that the discussions of grief throughout the book were well written, and there was nuance to the main character's reconciliation of her grieving her husband while falling in love. Xander hit all the boxes for a swoon-worthy love interest. And I liked the found-family aspect of the hotshots and their families.
