A Visit from the Goon Squad
by Jennifer Egan
I really loved this book. It was elegantly crafted, realistic and lyrics. Egan's ability to craft likable yet flawed characters is refreshing. What I mean is, this is something author's strive to do, but I never felt at all that she was striving for this, it came quite naturally. The only problem I had with this book was the back cover's description of it. I wish that it had been different/I hadn't read it so when I began the novel, I wouldn't have been so focused on Bennie and Sasha's characters. Though I see, having finished the book, that they are, in a sense, the focus, I still don't see the need to point this out as the goal of the book to a reader at that point.
