Salvation in Death by J.D. Robb

4.0

I really liked the investigation into the past in this one. And how the victim was perceived by those around him, both in the present and in the past.
I didn't really see the need for the second victim / murder. To, me it just took up unnecessary page time.
And I understand Robb trying to form that connection between Eve and her cases, but not every case needs to have such an emotional connection to things in Eve's past. Eve can still be a good cop, can still stand for the dead, even if in the process of the investigation she's not reminded of her past.
It's possible I've just listened to too many of these books too close together, and the repetitiveness of the characters lives is glaringly obvious.
But, in all honesty, I kind of started this one out thinking it wasn't going to pull me in, but alas, I was so wrong.
