I didn’t like the last book by this author that I had read (The Lost Girls of Devon) but I loved When We Believed in Mermaids. Fortunately this was more similar to the latter and I loved it, did not want to put it down. The characters were interesting, the plot was good… my only issue is the way things wrapped up at the end felt a little vague and could’ve used a bit more explanation. Otherwise I liked it a lot.

Oh yeah, one big complaint: quit using the phrase manic pixie dream girl. Find a new descriptor, I was gonna scream if I saw it one more time.
