Um... wow! From 60% until the end, this book absolutely blew my mind. It was non-stop action with plot twist after plot twist.
In true Danielle fashion, the burn is slow in this one. However, the banter between Freya and Bjorn carried over from book one, and absolutely had me! Can vikings make you kick your feet and giggle? These one's did! I loved all of their interactions, especially as we moved further into the book!
I felt that Freya, went through an extremely wide character arc in this book. She took quite a journey both personally and in her relationships with others. Was she frustrating at times? Yes, but I think also very human and believable after everything she had gone through, everything she had endured. Who wouldn't be a little confused and make a few mistakes moving forward.
Bjorn. Uh. Holy hotness 🥵😍. Need I say more. This man is the epitome of a viking golden retreiver, or maybe he's more of a rotweiller? Either way. He's perfection! His dedication to Freya and surity of his feelings for her is chef's kiss🤌. He is absolutely one of my favorite MMC's, and that shall never change.
I listened to the audiobook of this one, and really enjoyed it!
