Oblomov by Galya Diment, Ivan Goncharov, Stephen Pearl
5.0
This one took me quite a while to get through - I kept falling asleep for the first like 300 pages but got so invested once it started turning into a tragic love story. 'Oblmovitis' is a condition I am sure we all feel once in a while, maybe a more constant feeling for others (aka the post-college idk who I am phase). It's interesting because looking from the outside in you can't help but root and be frustrated for Oblomov, since he is so close to achieving something, anything that will lead him to happiness. However for him he is so clouded by his laziness, doubt, and inability to act on his thoughts that it leads to so much loss.
So gosh dang tragic.
