The Summer I First Saw You
by Elizabeth O'Roark
Elizabeth has some very special magic dust that she puts into her books to make each one of them so special! This series is an absolute favorite of mine and this book is really fighting with my heart to claim the number one spot. After two books with a very grumpy heroine, we are blessed with Daisy who is the brightest sunshine that I have ever met. Even though she has all the reason in the world to hate people and be a grump herself, she is so light and carefree and brightens up everyone around her. She is honestly the perfect match for Harrison.
Elizabeth writes an enthralling story that takes an age-gap, forbidden romance and will sweep you off your feet and captivate you until the very last page. The tension between the characters is electric, and the forbidden nature of their relationship only makes their connection even more intense. Despite the obstacles standing in their way, you can’t help but fall in love with them as they fight for what their hearts know to be true. Harrison had the hardest time accepting his feelings. He was trying to be a good friend to Liam but the undeniable chemistry makes it impossible to stay away.
Harrison has recently split up with his wife and has been hiding out away from his friends. Daisy coming to stay with him is both infuriating and entertaining. Daisy can leave him speechless with just a simple comment. Daisy’s outgoing personality contrasts with that of Harrison’s grumpy demeanor. The Summer I First Saw You is the perfect forbidden romance that will have you falling head over heels for this couple. It’s the kind of story that lingers in your heart, long after you’ve turned the last page.
